Music industry summit brand redesign
print designs, social media assets, and re-branding
In this project, I re-created the branding elements for the Music Industry Summit, a networking event for creatives at Ohio University and in Athens, Ohio. My redesign aimed to reflect brand identities used in previous years in order to maintain consistency, while also feeling contemporary, fun, and colorful. I chose to use a gradient background that incorporates Ohio University’s branding palette without relying heavily on the traditional green tones. I intentionally moved away from these greens, as they are often associated with academia or sports rather than music and creative expression, opting instead for brighter, more playful colors that better align with creativity.
Additionally, I incorporated red flourishes throughout the design to add visual interest and reference a previous university branding campaign that used sticker-like graphics and decals across campus. These flourishes both nod to that past branding and reinforce the playful tone associated with the Music Industry Summit. I also experimented with a variety of rounded shapes to accent the text and photographs of highlighted artists. The rounded text backgrounds improve readability and emphasize key information, while complementing the curved decorative elements throughout the piece. Finally, I used circular photo frames to break away from the geometric styles seen in previous years, introducing a fresh and updated visual approach.
